The Witch and the Wizard...

" Imagine you wake up and the world around you-life as you know it-has changed in an instant. That's what has happened to Whit Allgood and his sister, Whisty. They went to sleep as normal teenagers, and woke up as wanted criminals. Accused of holding incredible powers they'd never dreamed possible. And now, just how different they are-special, even-if just beginning to be revealed in a strange new world."

Sounds promising right?

Well that's exactly what I thought when I dove into this new novel, The Witch and the Wizard by James Patterson, once author of the year.
The cover art was gorgeous, the synopsis sounded great and I picked up the book with the highest of expectations.
I wish I could say that my expectations were met, unfortunately I cannot.

I enjoyed this novel as a pleasure read, but that's all it was, a pleasure read.
The plot line was good, and very different. It was original and pulled me in. However, it lacked a certain amount of creativity that I craved and also lacked detail. It was a very easy novel, so easy that I feel like it wasn't even meant for a high school student, and it just wasn't what I was looking for.

It emphasized on details that I felt weren't important and seemed to simply brush over the ones that I thought were. Sometimes it really took me into the book, while other times I just wanted to sleep reading it. It lacked a certain consistency I wanted.

I suppose I must have somewhat enjoyed it because I started reading the second book in the series soon after. Though, I do not have the highest of expectations for this book.

So overall, this book was good, great even, but not amazing, and was sort of a let down after reading Allegiant.

Hopefully, I shall be pleasantly surprised while reading the next book in this series. Thanks for reading ;)

Allegiant... The Final End

I literally don't even know what to say.
I'm at a loss of words.
My emotions are so conflicted.
I don't know whether to say that this book was the most amazing book in the world
Or the worst one I've ever read
I think I'm going to go with the first one

Allegiant... I can't even.
The ending was so...
so crazy.

So basically this book was so amazing. Every chapter, everything just drew you in.
There was not one boring part in this whole book. It constantly made me want to read more and never stop.
The theme was so amazing too, a great theme that everyone could learn from.
The book is a recipe for greatness,
great theme + great plot + great characters = amazing story
however, the end disappointed me
well, I use the term disappointed loosely

The ending was extreme unexpected, I would have never thought that would happen
It was such a good ending, as in I never saw it coming. However the end itself made me upset, because I didn't see it coming. And death, there is too much death in this book. Too much.

However the theme of this book is

"Life goes on, you must help each other heal from disappointments"

It was so good,
I recommend everyone to read it.

Well thanks for reading :)

Alligiant... and the Journey Continues

This is what I saw on the back of one of the most amazing books I have ever read...

One choice will define you.
What if your whole world was a lie?
What if a single revelation—like a single choice—changed everything?
What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected?

The faction-based society that Tris Prior once believed in is shattered—fractured by violence and power struggles and scarred by loss and betrayal. So when offered a chance to explore the world past the limits she’s known, Tris is ready. Perhaps beyond the fence, she and Tobias will find a simple new life together, free from complicated lies, tangled loyalties, and painful memories.
But Tris’s new reality is even more alarming than the one she left behind. Old discoveries are quickly rendered meaningless. Explosive new truths change the hearts of those she loves. And once again, Tris must battle to comprehend the complexities of human nature—and of herself—while facing impossible choices about courage, allegiance, sacrifice, and love.
Told from a riveting dual perspective, Allegiant, by #1 New York Times best-selling author Veronica Roth, brings the Divergent series to a powerful conclusion while revealing the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of readers in Divergent and Insurgent.

Sound's Promising Right?

So these are the events of October 22nd 2013:
- Allegiant comes out
- I buy Allegiant on the Kindle
- I read 17 % of Allegiant
- I love every minute of it

The book Allegiant finally came out!!!! It's the third, and concluding book to the Divergent Trilogy. In my previous posts, I blogged about the first two books in the series. If you've read them, I'm sure you have understood my obsession with this series. Well now, Allegiant has come out, the book I have been waiting for, for so long.

At the current moment, I am at the part where Tris, Tobias and others are trying to escape from the walls of their city...
They're in grave danger, and are taking a huge risk.
Unfortunately the bell rang before I could get much further. I sincerely wish that I could have sat down and just enjoyed the book, but unfortunately, school is kind of interfering with that.
Anyway I have many expectations for this book. I also have a few predictions.

I predict that...

1. Tori will die. I feel awful saying this, but, I'm kind of hoping for it too. She was a great friend to Tris but then she called her a traitor and became a totally different person who only wanted the death of Jeanie. I think the author will kill her in this book.

2. I think Uriah will die to. However, I believe this will happen later in the book because I feel as though Tris will need a huge loss to bring her back down to earth. However, I feel like this will break Tris for a while.

3. I finally believe that the ending will be happy. I think Tris and Tobias ill live a happy life together. I think they'll escape the fence and I think that they'll tell their secret of living in harmony to the rest of the world.

Well that's it for now. I really hope I can just sit down and read this book in one sitting really soon. Thanks for reading!

Insurgent.... I WANT MORE!

Insurgent... that book... well i'm speechless.
Insurgent was so AMAZING! I thought it wasn't even possible for ANY book to be better than Divergent, well I was wrong. Insurgent was such an amazing sequel... and had a twist that I did NOT see coming.
Let's just say that this book was so fabulous, so amazing, so unforgettable.
So let's break this series down...
There's the...
Amity; the people that will do anything to bring people together in order to always bring peace. This was not one of the factions that Tris had and aptitude for in her aptitude test.
Dauntless: these people are brave, fearless and the "rebels", of the factions. Tris did have an aptitude for this faction.
Abnegation: This was Tris's original faction, and one she did have aptitude for. This faction is for the selfless people.
Erudite: These people are the smartest of the group. They are clever, intelligent and are the masterminds of everything efficient in all the factions. Tris had an aptitude for this faction.
And the final factions is...
Candor: Tris did not have an aptitude for this faction but these are the people that believe honesty will always bring peace and are honest in everything.
So that's basically the breakdown of Tris's world. I REALLY CANNOT WAIT FOR TUESDAY. Thanks for reading :)

Divergent... Again

Last year I read the book Divergent. As expected, it caught me and hooked me on. I was in love with the book. Immediately after I read Divergent I moved to read Insurgent and fell in love with that book as well. However, since the third book in the series did not come out yet, I seemingly abandoned the series and never picked it up again.
So yesterday, in celebration of Allegiant, the last book in the trilogy coming out, I reread Divergent. Not surprisingly, I did not remember even a bit of what happened. I picked up the book and finished it in 3 hours. Let me tell you, those three hours of my life were not wasted. This book, although I was rereading it, caught me once again and made me fall in love with it, once again.
It is about a girl, named Tris who develops thoroughly during the story. It starts with her changing her name. Beatrice, a selfless, Aberration girl quickly turns into Tris, a brave Dauntless warrior in a matter of 50 pages. Things happen so quickly and move so fast that you do not want to stop reading.
Once Tris makes it into Dauntless headquarters, she meets a mysterious, handsome trainer by the name of Four. I mean who names their son Four? Well I had to keep reading to find that one out. As for Four's mysterious nature, he's hiding a deep, dark secret.
Throughout this novel, this team of two discover hidden secrets and mysterious that may change the world as they know it. Cliche right? But it's so true. This book kept me wanting more so undoubtedly, I turned to start reading Insurgent. One of my favorite novels by far, I recommend it to anyone and everyone. Thanks for reading :) And I'll be sure to keep you posted on my journey through Insurgent by Veronica Roth.

Well that was unexpected...

As I completed Half Upon A Time...  I was shocked. As I have said before, this book is a twist on fairy tales.
"' No, because my grandmother isn't a character in a fairy tale.' [May said]
'Fairies don't have tails,' Jack said..." (Riley 61).
This book leads with a hook that grabs you in and makes you want to read more. It starts of with poor Jack, who is trying to complete a test by saving a princesses. Unfortunately for him, he is the only one who fails in his class. He walks away from the scene, reprimanded by his teacher, upset and disappointed. As he tells his grandfather the dreaded news, they get in a fight. Jack claims that training is useless for there are no princesses left but his grandfather claims that there is still hope. In a sudden outburst, Jack claims that there is no possibility that a princess will just fall from the sky when suddenly, a princess does and lands merely a foot away from Jack's outstretched arms. The rest of the story is  about how Jack and the princess become acquainted.
The princess has a problem. Her grandmother has been kidnapped and she needs help finding her. The rest of the journey is about the different fairy tales May, the princess, encounters during the story including Snow White, Jack and the Beanstalk and Hansel and Gretel. As this book ended in a cliffhanger, I longer for more and now am starting the next book in the series, Twice Upon A Time! Well happy reading :)

NEW BOOK!!!!

The House of Hades FINALLY came out and I'm so excited. I just started reading it and it seems really good. Already, about ten pages into the novel, Hazel comes to a very important crossroad. She is forced to choose between right and wrong. And, well, we won't know if her decision was right or wrong until the end of the novel. She seems to be uneasy about her situation and wishes that it could be different. However, fate is fate and that cannot change what is happening. She does find a moment of hope though, when she prays to her father, Hades, and he grants her a small wish. She finally is reunited with her Horse. And all this happened in just TEN pages! I am so excited and I cannot wait to read more.

Predictions?

1. Well I predict that Hazel's decision will be a good decision and it will end up saving them.

2. I think that they will also end up saving Percy and Annabeth but maybe not in this book.

3. I believe that they will lose another member of the team but will end up reuniting with them once again.

Questions?

1. Will they find Percy and Annabeth?

2. Can they complete the quest without anyone getting hurt?

Well I don't know and I can't WAIT to find out. Thanks for reading :)

United We Spy... Why?!?

Oh. My. Gosh. I did not see that coming. This book has so many twists, and so many betrayals and I am so excited! It was a great novel that had action, romance, and, well, spies! I loved how this book by Allie Carter always kept you at the end of your seat. I wish there was next book. But unfortunately, there is not. Now here are a few things I wish they had cleared up before ending the novel...

Will Cammie end up staying in college and stop her spying career?

I highly doubt this because once a spy always a spy. I feel like she was born to spy and would not stop it for the world.

Will her and Zach end up together?

I think Yes! They are such a cute couple and they seem to care about each other. It doesn't matter to Cammie that his mom wanted to kill her and that he goes to a school of assassins. I thought that was adorable!

Will Cammie, after college, join a special agent force?

I highly doubt this. I think Cammie doesn't trust the FBI and M16 and will spy privately. Maybe she'll even create a new Gallagher Girl Academy. But I doubt she'll join a big organization in fear that there will be someone after her.

Is Cammie finally safe?

Doubt it. I feel like there is more coming at her, more near death brushes and more betrayals. But I feel like she is ready for it now, that she can take on anything.

That's it for now! Thanks for reading (:
